Paul Albert Laurens (1870–1934) was the son of successful French academic painter Jean-Paul Laurens. His work nicely illustrates the usefulness of a vaguely mythological theme for artists who basically wanted to paint naked women. Although the mythological basis for both paintings is rather thin!
