Louis Anquetin (1861-1932)
Louis Anquetin (1861-1932), French painter who was acquainted with Toulouse-Lautrec and van Gogh. In the 1890s he painted in the manner of cloisonnism (a term also used to describe the works of Émile Bernard, Paul Gauguin and Paul Sérusier). Anquetin later turned against modernism.
